Position Summary
Responsible for performing all necessary job functions to keep the facility clean and in an orderly condition.
Major Areas of Responsibility Include
- Clean and maintain the facility on a regular schedule.
- Stock cleaning, medical, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) supplies for manufacturing (i.e. gloves, hairnets, earplugs, rags, etc.). Monitor inventory of cleaning, medical, and GMP’s supplies. Report to shift Supervisor any shortages so they can be ordered.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (i.e. floor scrubber, buffer, vacuum cleaner, etc.).
Specific Responsibilities
- Clean lunchrooms, restrooms and office areas.
- Remove trash and shredded materials from office and plant areas.
- Vacuum floors in office areas and run floor scrubber in plant areas.
- Clean doors and windows throughout facility.
- Maintain all areas around work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Complete and provide required daily reports to Supervisor.
- Undertake personal responsibility to become and remain fully qualified to perform all aspects of the position as outlined in the Job Competencies for the Position of Janitor.
- Follow safety guidelines, Company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Legible penmanship to write reports that are understandable to others.
- Strong command of the written language in order to understand procedures and guidelines.
- Understand and effectively be able to use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to accurately/efficiently sort and classify material.
- Demonstrated ability to make well thought out decisions and ensures appropriate courses of action are taken.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and under pressure.
- Vision must be correctable to ’20-20’ to read all necessary work-related materials.
- Hearing acuity sufficient to understand spoken instructions or phone conversations in a factory environment.
- Ability to work overtime (OT) as required.
Education and Experience
- 2 years experience in care and cleaning of facility.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
- The work performed by the employee is both indoors and outdoors.
- The employee is required to walk and stand for the majority of the job.
- The employee must have good motor skills and be able to frequently lift and carry 10lbs. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and carry 40 lbs.
- The employee is required to frequently bend and occasionally squat, climb and reach above shoulder level; as well as turn, twist, pull, and push.
