Position Number: 129690 Position Title (Classification Title): Assistant Professor-129690 Working Title: Assistant Professor Job Summary: Applications are invited for one full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Marketing, position number 129690. The position is available with an August 2025 start date, dependent upon university funding. Primary teaching duties will be undergraduate and graduate Marketing courses.The University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, FL, emphasizes quality teaching. In addition, faculty members are expected to publish in quality refereed journals, maintain AACSB academic qualifications, perform career and academic counseling, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A normal teaching load is three courses (two preparations when possible) per semester. This position may require teaching at the nearby Fort Walton Beach campus of the university (approximately 50 miles east of the Pensacola campus). Opportunities for summer teaching are normally available. Salary is AACSB competitive and will be commensurate with education and experience. Department Department of Commerce FLSA: Exempt Minimum Qualifications: • Ph.D., Doctorate, or Doctoral degree in Marketing or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution, as well as, a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• ABD candidates may be considered but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to August 2025. We will consider strong candidates with a research focus in all areas of Marketing,
• Candidates must demonstrate the potential to maintain a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research, and active service. Preferred Qualifications • In addition to the minimum qualifications noted above, preferred candidates will also have relevant professional experience and proven effectiveness related to in-person and online course development.
• Experience engaging with industry to provide students with high impact learning experiences and to explore opportunities for collaborative research.
• The department has a particular need for an individual with expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas:
o Digital Marketing
o Social Media Marketing
o Marketing Analytics
o Content Marketing (and related experience with graphic/video content creation software)
o Marketing Strategy
o Graduate-level Marketing Physical Demands:
