What impact you’ll make

As an Engineering Intern on the Power Conversion & Storage team, you will be an active contributor to the testing, certification and productization of our FLEXINVERTER, FLEXRESERVOIR batteries, and FLEXIQ control systems.

Job Description

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities) 

 

• Collaborate with design engineers, compliance engineers, product safety engineers, and technicians regarding hardware and software design. 

• Audit and improve Installation, Commissioning, and Operation & Maintenance procedures for BESS products. 

• Review and analyze commissioning data to identify patterns, trends, or areas of concern. 

• Ensure that procedures align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and company standards. 

• Assist with data collection, testing, and verification activities of new products and sub-systems. 

• Document findings, observations, and any issues encountered. 

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Niskayuna, NY, Schenectady, NY

 

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications) 

 

•  Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 

• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).  

• Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship 

What will make you stand out (Desired Qualifications) 

 

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and battery technology. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

• A passion for renewable energy and energy storage. 

• Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and energy storage control systems (ESCS). 

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, UL). 

• Programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB). 

• Previous internship experience in a related field.
