Title:
Junior Software EngineerKBR is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN). The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs and supports activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software.
- Supports analysis of customer requirements and helps translate them into a design.
- Creates prototypes and performs internal testing of software products.
- Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements.
- Generate/update documents defining software product baselines.
- Codes, tests, debugs, and installs programs.
- Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software.
- Supports senior-level engineers to resolve technical and project-related issues.
- Assists in compiling and preparing comprehensive technical reports and proposals.
- May participate as a team member of multiple teams; may act as primary intra-organizational liaison.
- Travel approximately 0% to 30%.
Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
- BS in computer science or other related technical field, or relevant software work experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- BS in computer science or other related technical field, with 2 years of experience.
- Experiences with Windows and Unix environments.
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages, including Python or C, and scripting languages.
Basic Compensation:
Salary Range: 70,600 - 88,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
