We’re excited to bring on a Senior Associate Actuary, to our newly expanding Chief Risk Office.  You will help support the continued development and implementation of the Lincoln Financial Group's Enterprise Risk Management program.  Working with the lines of business and critical areas within risk will be required to remain effective in this role.  


The goal of this program is to deliver insightful and actionable risk analytics and governance that drive business results. Members of this program help identify, assess, and prioritize risks while developing processes to measure and report such risks throughout the organization.  As part of this role, you will assist with all aspects of Lincoln’s ERM framework but maintain a focus towards the liability side of the balance sheet.
 

What you'll be doing

Risk Analysis

  • Lead the enterprise scenario governance, including the development of in-house solutions, socialization of various stochastic scenario sets, and support for applications across actuarial modeling.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of enterprise governance (ex. risk appetite) frameworks key to risk mitigation.
  • Complete the quantification, aggregation, and reporting of liability risks across multiple frameworks through modeling, financial analysis, and organizational partnerships.
  • Establish risk quantification methodologies based on limited or qualitative data
  • Focus towards improving processes and valuations through automation and mathematical techniques.

Special Projects

  • Assist with research and development for key initiatives and industry issues (ex. climate risk analysis and regulatory changes).
  • Strategically leverage modeling and financial data from across the company to analyze enterprise risks associated with projects and strategic decisions.

Relationships and Communication

  • Helps identify, measure, and communicate enterprise risk analysis
  • Establishes effective working relationships throughout the organization, both at the corporate level and within the businesses.
  • Clearly communicates results in a concise and appropriate way
     

What we’re looking for

Must have: 

  • 5-7+ years of actuarial work experience
  • FSA preferred; ASA required
  • Working knowledge of US accounting regimes, insurance mechanics, and product strategies
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in math, business, or another quantitative field

Computer skills: 

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with actuarial software systems 
  • Familiarity with programming languages
  • Familiarity with business visualization tools

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of investments and enterprise risks.
  • FRM/PRM/CQF or CFA designation
