We are looking for an Associate Graduate Engineer for our MidCorp line of business (lob).  This role can be located in one of our following offices: Chicago, Illinois; Alpharetta, Georgia, or New York City.

Your Team  

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

 

Whether it's hotel groups, restaurant groups, warehouse, or manufacturing, we are able to call on many years of specific business risk experience – creating tailor-made risk management services to respond to unique challenges.

 

The Impact You Will Have  

Reporting to the MidCorp Manager, this position will be responsible for developing loss control capabilities and skills required to support our internal customers (underwriting) and external customers (insured/broker) and provide ongoing coordination of assigned loss control activities. Those loss control activities would include general coordination/servicing/monitoring of an account along with the ability to perform on-site property risk consulting survey inspections. It is the goal to have a general, well-rounded understanding of the various loss control/fire protection features/hazards that are inherent to the various LOB's that AzC underwrites.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:  

  • Train in unison with senior engineering staff and/or mentors to develop an understanding of the various exposures and controls related to various occupancies encountered. Handle shadowing of assigned surveys as experience dictates. This path would lead to the development of necessary skills and ability to maintain professional working relationships with underwriting, Claims, business development, co- workers, clients, and brokers.   Eventually responsible for providing loss control advice, support, and assistance to AzC and its customers, to assist Allianz underwriting in risk selection, and retention for all Marine accounts.  Some activities will be cross Line of Business in nature and will allow a full spectrum of the capabilities of the Allianz Risk Consulting Team.
