Our autonomous vehicles rely on state of the art electronics to ensure safety, sensor data compute, and  in-car infotainment processing. Each of these modules need to be thoroughly tested and validated to pass stringent qualifications. We are seeking a dynamic electrical validation engineer to test and validate our extensive range of car modules. This is an opportunity to work cross functionally with many stakeholders (hardware, software, systems engineering, suppliers) and roadmap from validating power integrity to high speed signals and everything in between.

Day-to-day responsibilities include: 

  • Day-to-day lab operations and support. 

  • Responsible for hardware bench setup, equipment, fixtures, system integration.

  • Debug components, boards, and system failure activities.  Accurately document test methodology, qualitatively analyze test data, and clearly communicate the root cause analysis with the team and various stakeholders

  • Participate in bring-up, execute test plans, and collaborate with multi-functional teams, i.e. mechanical, thermal, design, manufacturing and software teams, etc.

  • Participate in design reviews to ensure test and validation coverage of new components and boards during the design phase.  Continually work with teams to improve test methodology and fixtures.

  • Work with Tier1 / Contract Manufacturers vendors on component development and testing strategies, clarify technical queries on testing and validation 

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field

  • 10+ years of experience with hardware validation with proficiency in: ethernet switch design, high speed interface design and validation, compliance tests for different standards like IEEE (Ethernet), FPD, MIPI, DDR, PCIe, etc.

  • Good knowledge in EE fundamentals, power & signal integrity, clock, and analog/digital circuits

  • Good knowledge with schematic design and layout tools.

  • Experience using lab equipment such as bench power supplies, high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VNA’s, and thermal/heat chambers

  • Experience with high speed interfaces such as: 25G-KR, 10G-KR, 10GBase-T, SFP, QSFP, 1G-T1, PCIe, DDR4, as well as I2C, MDIO is preferred. 

  • Self-motivated individual with team player spirit and can do attitude.

Bonus points!

  • Automotive industry experience

  • Experience in ASIL B/D Validation

  • Scripting to automate data collection and control ATE/Test fixtures (Python, VBA, C++)

  • PCB Rework experience

The salary range for this position is $148,600 - $218,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
