Program Overview

Internships available in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Management Reporting and Analysis – Focuses on John Hancock’s quarterly results as the U.S. Division of Manulife Financial Corporation. Supports key external deliverables such as Management’s Discussion and Analysis and press releases

  • Financial Reporting – Preparing GAAP and Statutory financial statements for John Hancock’s insurance entities.

  • Tax –Supports quarterly and annual tax provisions and filings across John Hancock.

  • Controls Center of Excellence – Drives standardization and centralization of controls across the U.S. Division, including risk assessments, key controls, and methodologies to support best practices.

  • Internal Audit Provides independent assurance on the design and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes across John Hancock and Manulife.

  • WAM Accounting & Reporting – Manages monthly production and analysis of financial results (IFRS basis) and leads process improvement and automation initiatives for the Wealth and Asset Management segment.

  • Mandatory participation in program for the full 11 weeks

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Strong academic performance; currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Commitment to pursuing CPA certification

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, high initiative, and ability to synthesize and communicate information

  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player with a collaborative mindset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
