Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Data Warehouse and Report Developer, Junior – Boca Raton, FL.

The Data Warehouse Developer and Reporting Analyst, Junior supports the Data and Reporting Services (DRS) Team in developing data integrations and reporting solutions to meet operational and strategic needs across the University. This position is ideal for candidates who are technically inclined but also demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks. The role provides opportunities to grow expertise in data engineering, business intelligence, and enterprise data systems while contributing to meaningful reporting and integration work.

Summary of Responsibilities includes:

Report Development and Analysis:

  • Assist in collecting and documenting report requirements. 
  • Retrieve, transform, and prepare data for reporting using SQL, Python, Power BI, and other tools.
  • Validate data to ensure accuracy and alignment with University reporting standards.   
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that support compliance, operational, and strategic needs for the University.
  • Conduct data validation, assist in code implementations, and help prepare data file submissions to the Florida Board of Governors.  
  • Build foundational knowledge of student, budget, personnel, and payroll data systems to support reporting needs.

Data Warehouse Operations, Engineering, Integrations, and Governance:

  • Monitor scheduled data loads and assist in investigating and resolving data pipeline issues. Participate in documenting data integration logic, data lineage, and system dependencies to support audit, compliance, and operational continuity for the data warehouse.
  • Develop and support data integrations for internal and external data sources, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and security are in line with University policies.
  • Assist in managing secure data exchanges with third-party systems, ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and reporting standards.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis on new data sources to assess the quality and readiness of new data sources for integration.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting and data integration needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data processes, documentation, or quality.
  • Contribute ideas and provide input on tools, practices, or technologies that may benefit the team’s data workflows, such as recommending tools, technologies, and practices for optimizing data ingestion, integration, and processing workflows, including the adoption of modern cloud-based platforms.
  • Actively maintain a learning mindset and take initiative to expand technical and domain knowledge.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
