Principal Product Manager, Multi-Cloud Networking Service

Job Summary
Equinix, a leader in the Cloud Networking Industry, is looking for a Principal Product Manager to help drive the design and development of Equinix’s next-generation cloud networking products. In this role, you will fill a critical role on a team focused on solving the complexities that Enterprises face when building and managing a hybrid multi-cloud networking environment. 

You have a deep understanding of the challenges customers experience connecting when building and managing hybrid, multi-cloud environments. You are adept at translating customer requirements into customer deliverables. You will work closely with customers, industry analysts, partners, and our sales teams to help develop a unique service offering that decreases complexity and provides excellent value for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Define and articulate the product strategy in support of the new Equinix Multi-Cloud Networking Service design and implementation efforts

• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful product launches

• Bring Industry knowledge and expertise of how customers currently use Cloud Networking with their hyper-scalers, and the available technologies the services that span networking across clouds

• Conduct market research and engage with customers to identify needs, trends, and opportunities

• Partner with Sales and Solutions Architects to meet with interested customers to help communicate the overall value and to validate product market fit

• Partner with development teams to translate business requirements into actionable roadmap

• Drive the User Experience (UX) for this product, includes both a portal and an API experience

• Validate ideas directly with customers before, during, and after development

• Work closely with other product leaders to coordinate developing a cohesive UX for customers across the portfolio

• Manage the backlog by prioritizing critical features based on analysis of the business opportunity vs level of effort

• Define metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive user experience improvements

• Perform pricing evaluation and coordinate price changes

• Design product training curriculum; participate in cross-functional training and meetings

• Run the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities; establish and monitor critical metrics; implement course corrections as needed

• Provide customer and partner briefings and serve as an evangelist for the product

• Understand the core aspects of IAM, including user lifecycle management, principles of least privilege, and secure authentication and authorization mechanisms

• Understand Observability features and key integrations enterprises require to manage their day-to-day operations and support

 
Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a software defined network infrastructure product management role or a combination of 5 years of product management and experience in software network engineering/architecture

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or relevant field of study

• Experienced building complex software for Cloud Networks and NaaS; deep, end-to-end experience building cloud technologies: CSPs (Cloud Service Providers), NaaS, virtualization, networking, etc.

• Experience with Hyperscale Networking
