POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Project Manager leads and coordinates projects that support the organization’s mission, programs, and operational goals. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with donor, grant, and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager works closely with program staff, leadership, funders, and community partners to drive effective and sustainable outcomes. The project manager must ensure that high-level leaders are held accountable for their commitments, decisions, and timely support to keep the project aligned with its goals.


In addition to the duties and requirements listed below, YFA expects employees to be committed to incorporating principles of trauma-informed care in all areas of service delivery. Commitment to these principles is demonstrated through active participation in agency-required trainings, use of trauma-informed practices, and understanding that trauma-informed environments require cultural sensitivity and an emphasis on a safe and respectful environment for all.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead nonprofit projects from start to finish
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success measures
  • Partner with program leaders to turn mission goals into project plans
  • Create timelines, budgets, work plans, and performance metrics
  • Track progress, outcomes, and impact against goals and funding requirements
  • Ensure compliance with grant, donor, and regulatory guidelines
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including staff, volunteers, and partners
  • Identify and address project risks and operational challenges
  • Manage project documentation, data tracking, and reporting
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, board members, and funders
  • Maintain project documentation and quality standards

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:


Education & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field

· Proven experience managing projects in a nonprofit, government, or mission-driven organization

· Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, funding structures, and compliance

· Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited resources

· Proven experience as a Project Manager or Business Project Manager

· Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, or hybrid)

· Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

· Project management certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent)

· Experience with grant-funded programs or donor-funded projects

· Familiarity with nonprofit reporting tools and project management software
