About the role

Summary of the Role

As Thomson Reuters accelerates its transformation into a technology company, Analyst Relations plays a critical role in shaping how our strategy, platforms, and execution are understood by the market.

We are looking for a Director of Analyst Relations who is proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable operating at speed. This individual contributor role owns our global engagement with industry analysts across technology, AI, legal, tax, risk, and professional services—and ensures that external perspectives reflect where the business is going, not where it has been.

This is a new and strategic role at TR. You will drive the narrative, anticipate analyst questions before they are asked, and ensure analysts understand our roadmap, differentiation, and momentum as we build and scale new technology.

About the Role

  • Own the analyst narrative
Develop and continuously evolve a clear, credible analyst storyline that aligns with Thomson Reuters’ technology strategy, AI roadmap, and growth priorities.
  • Proactively engage top-tier analysts
Build and maintain strong relationships with key global analysts across firms such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and specialist industry analysts. You will actively shape coverage, not just respond to it.
  • Translate strategy into market understanding
Work closely with product, technology, legal, finance, and communications leaders to distil complex initiatives—especially AI and platform development—into clear, analyst-ready messages.
  • Operate at the pace of the business
Anticipate analyst needs around launches, earnings, acquisitions, and major strategic shifts. Prepare leaders and materials quickly and decisively, often under tight timelines.
  • Drive analyst engagement programs
Plan and execute analyst days, briefings, inquiries, and conferences with a bias toward impact, clarity, and efficiency.
  • Influence perception and positioning
Monitor analyst research, reports, and commentary. Identify opportunities to correct misconceptions, strengthen positioning, and elevate differentiation versus competitors.
  • Partner cross-functionally
Act as a connector across Communications, Product Marketing, Investor Relations, and the business—ensuring consistency between analyst, media, and investor narratives.
  • Advise senior leaders
Prepare executives for analyst interactions, including message framing, Q&A, and positioning around sensitive or emerging topics.
  • Data driven

Measure success of AR program against business objectives - reporting regularly back to key stakeholders.

What success looks like

  • Analysts clearly understand where Thomson Reuters is headed—and why it matters.
  • Coverage in key analyst evaluations reflects strategy, momentum, and differentiation, not legacy perceptions.
  • Analyst engagement is proactive, disciplined, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Executives see Analyst Relations as a strategic partner, not a scheduling function.
  • The function moves quickly without losing accuracy or credibility.

About You:

  • You bring strong judgement, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to operate confidently in ambiguous, high-change environments.
  • 10+ years of experience in Analyst Relations, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, or a related strategic role within a technology-driven or SaaS organization
  • Demonstrated success engaging with and influencing top-tier industry analysts, with demonstrable skills of aiding technology companies appearing in Garner MQ’s, Forrester Waves and IDC Marketscapes (amongst others)
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology, platforms, data, or AI‑driven products
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex technical and strategic concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Comfortable operating hands-on, with ownership from strategy through execution
  • Experience working in a matrixed organisation, influencing across teams without direct authority
  • High attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive mindset

Experience in legal tech, financial services, information services, or regulated industries is a plus.
