JOB SUMMARY:

The Direct Digital Marketing (DDM) intern will play a pivotal role in facilitating a variety of direct digital marketing initiatives throughout their internship. These initiatives encompass documenting end-to-end marketing communication journeys across all channels of DDM, executing data-driven and audience-based tactics to enhance guest engagement and conversion rates, and overseeing overall project management. Throughout this experience, the intern will gain invaluable insights into the significant role that direct digital marketing communications play in managing customer relationships, and how these principles intersect with Paid Media, E-Commerce, and Data Science.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains project timelines and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists with pre- and post- campaign analytics and metrics.
  • Conducts research on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, offering recommendations to enhance Universal’s marketing strategies, particularly in relation to chatbots, mobile messaging, and loyalty programs.
  • Provides support for campaign execution.
  • Monitors performance metrics, meticulously documenting them, and discerning opportunities and patterns for improvement to optimize program effectiveness and integration into broader marketing strategies.
  • Collaborates closely with various internal teams to ensure seamless channel integration and alignment with overall marketing goals.
  • Assists with the planning, execution, and testing of email campaigns, mobile messaging, and triggered communication programs, ensuring timelines are met and processes are documented.
  • Executes new content for triggered communications and implements monthly e-newsletters while maintaining comprehensive project management.
  • Contributes to the ongoing evolution of Affinity programs and other marketing channels by identifying patterns for improvement and staying informed on competitive loyalty programs.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business
  • Management, Hospitality, Public Relations.
  • Preferred coursework completed: Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Data Analytics.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Experience with direct digital marketing (lifecycle, mobile messaged, direct/1:1 marketing, digital marketing) with an understanding of integrating communication strategies preferred.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
