Position Summary

As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will be working with a small but talented group of experienced individuals to solve complex problems using innovative solutions. You will be working in many different industries such as food and beverage, material handling / conveyance, water / wastewater plants, industrial refrigeration / HVAC, automotive parts manufacturing just to name a few. Ideal candidates will have a great attitude, a willingness to learn new things along with the ability to communicate effectively with teammates and customers alike.

Location: Cedar Springs, MI

Type: Full timer permanent employment

Pay: $25 and up + No out of pocket benefit expenses! 

Primary Roles:
•Design and implement ladder logic PLC code from scratch following department standards
•Design and implement HMI / SCADA applications from scratch following department standards
•Troubleshoot existing control systems for customers both remotely and onsite
•Perform new control panel setup, testing and debug prior to shipment
•Onsite commissioning of new control systems and devices
•Provide exceptional customer service and teammate support


Education / Experience/ Training:
•Associate degree in engineering field (Computer / Electrical / Design / Mechanical / Manufacturing / Robotics) or 1+ years of   related experience, or equivalent experience
•Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits and troubleshooting theory
•Ability to understand electrical schematic drawings and symbols
•Experience with programming Allen Bradley products (PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, etc)
•Knowledge of Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA software preferred
•Ideal candidates will have completed online Ignition training and possess experience developing/deploying applications
•Technologically proficient with a good working knowledge of computers / servers / hardware and software
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Travel:
•Local travel in West Michigan or within driving distance up to 50% of the time to customers sites for service calls and new system commissioning using company vehicles
•Overnight travel based on project location up to 5% of the time
