About the role

Description

The Department of Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics (NExT) in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine seeks to fill one (1) academic professional track (non-tenure) position for a full time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the Winter of 2026. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Research Assistant Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

The chosen candidate's primary academic responsibility involve the following:

1. Conduct research based on funded grants

2. Supervise research staff

3. Maintain research compliance protocols (IACUC, IBC)

4. Prepare progress reports for funding agencies

5. Prepare and submit grant applications and peer-reviewed publications

6. Engage with faculty and graduate students in the NExT department through collaborative projects

Together, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Health, and the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine are working to improve healthcare through transformative education, innovative research, and team-based care delivery.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering
  • Expertise in neuromodulation, network modeling, and therapeutic interventions for central nervous system disorders
  • Experience leading an interdisciplinary research team
