Job Title: BDC Controller, Senior Vice President
The BDC Controller will be a leader of the accounting, finance and financial reporting for Blackstone Credit’s business development company (BDC) investment advisory business. Blackstone Credit manages BXSL (a publicly traded BDC) and BCRED (a continuously offered non-traded BDC).
The principal responsibilities for supporting the BDCs include:
- Managing teams responsible for day-to-day accounting, administration, and reporting of the business development companies
- Overseeing internal accounting team and working directly with the third-party administrator to determine the fund’s monthly NAV
- Reporting directly to the chief accounting officer of the BDCs and working closely with the chief financial officer of the BDCs
- Preparing the analysis of fund returns and delivering regular management deliverables on fund performance and key fund metrics
- Monitoring compliance with the SEC and IRS regulatory tests applicable to BDCs, in coordination with legal, compliance and tax teams
- Preparing 10-K/10-Q and other SEC filings. Performing research on new transactions and new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on financial statements
- Working closely with Operations, Product Control and Valuations teams to ensure consistency between internal accounting systems and administrator data and accurate reporting of fund investments and P&L
- Partnering with the investment and business teams to support fund analytics, including maintaining the BDC financial model, liquidity management, and portfolio manager reporting
- Preparing materials and presenting to the BDC Board of Directors
- Coordinating with technology teams to improve automation of manual processes
- Establishing and maintaining an appropriate internal control framework
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- CPA license is required
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience as a Controller at a BDC or private credit firm
- BDC product experience preferred (non-traded BDCs a plus)
- SEC reporting experience required
- Strong internal financial controls awareness
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ideal candidates would have a commitment to excellence in their work product and a desire to learn and grow as a professional

Expected annual base salary range:
$225,000 - $275,000Actual base salary within that range will be determine
