Production Tech I

 

Location: Freeport, TX

 

Global Helium is seeking a Helium Bulk Production Technician III to join our team located in freeport, TX. The Helium Bulk Production Technician III is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a helium processing, purification, and distribution site. The Helium Bulk Production Technician III must be proficient in plant operations to achieve key measurables including safety, production, quality, and continuous improvement. The Helium Bulk Production Technician III must maintain process awareness and communication with feedstock provider in OSHA PSM facility, while producing refined product timely and to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • The Production Tech III is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Committed to personal safety and environmental accountability

  • Safe handling of hazardous materials (liquid & gaseous helium)

  • Perform duties; as trained; under minimal supervision, and in diverse weather conditions

  • Accurately completes documentation such as timesheets, work orders, hazard work permits and regulatory reports/inspections

  • Maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices and conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities

  • Fill liquid & gas helium bulk containers to our QMS (quality management system) standards.

  • Operate a yard tractor

  • Participates in and successfully completes training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations and company policy

  • Reviews and follows procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements

  • Performs Startup, Shutdown, and operation of various equipment, for example: compressors, cryogenic liquefier, purification skids, product analyzers and more

  • Product composition and quality sampling and testing, and routine inspection and calibration of associated equipment

  • Must understand and be able to interpret P&ID, PID Process controls and Instrumentation

  • Troubleshoot process upsets

  • Troubleshoot control valve issues

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

  • 5+ years experience in an industrial plant environment required

  • 5+ years Operations/Distribution/Quality experience

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of Hazardous Work Permits, Lock out Tag out, and Management of Change

  • OSHA Process Safety Management experience desired

  • Quality management experience in an environment with a focus on process control and continuous improvement, preferably in the ISO framework

  • Communication and Collaboration skills - Both verbally and in writing with managers, colleagues, and customers

  • Ability to work 12hr day shifts (4-3,3-4), which include weekends, and holidays

  • Rotating “On-Call” responsibility (Nights)

  • Ability to travel (10%)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
