Position Summary

The McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University invites applications for a Continuing Faculty Status track (tenure track equivalent) professional faculty position in the department of Educational Leadership and Foundations (EDLF) beginning August 1, 2026. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The EDLF Department offers the following degree programs:

• MEd in School Leadership
• EdD in Educational Leadership
• PhD in Educational Inquiry, Measurement, and Evaluation

Required Degree: 

Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Statistics (with an education emphasis), or a related field (must be completed by the start date)

Required Qualifications/Experience: 

• Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in teaching graduate-level courses in quantitative research and evaluation methodologies (e.g., introductory statistics, structural equation modeling, hierarchical linear modeling)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively teach diverse learners, representing unique needs, interests, and fields of study
• Strong record or clear potential for producing high-quality and collaborative research (though not necessarily as lead author)
• Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in mentoring and advising graduate students on evaluation and/or research projects
• Ability to work on a team and collaborate with faculty in different departments, representing different educational and research paradigms

Preferred Qualifications/Experience: 

• Experience working in an education-related field, such as educational leadership, counseling psychology, or learning design

Duties/Expectations: 

This position will teach quantitative methods courses in all three programs and also teach interdepartmental courses with other departments in the McKay School, including “Counseling Psychology and Special Education” and “Instructional Psychology & Technology.” As a professional faculty position, this position will have a 3-3-2 teaching load (or equivalent negotiated 24-credit teaching load), have a collaborative research requirement (though not necessarily a research agenda), and mentor master’s and doctoral level students on theses and dissertations.
