Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology works with large scale databases such as DB2 and SQL Server, proprietary and non-proprietary messaging software, a broad variety of vendor products, numerous financial exchanges and regulatory entities, and programming languages ranging from .Net and JAVA to Cobol, MS SQL Server and VB.Net.
Services Tech is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Digital Business Automation(DBA), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing document management, workflow and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans and tailored lending. Morgan Stanley Digital Business Automation team is looking for Java developer to join a technologically advanced team to work towards Document platform. Candidate will interface on a regular basis with other teams including other internal IT teams across Wealth Management, BA team, QA team, and offshore development team. The candidate must have good communication skills and be able work with both users and lead IT team members in a highly collaborative team environment. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities and proprietary system builds.
What you'll do in the role:
Building enterprise server-side applications using Java EE Technologies, hands-on development using Java technology
Hands on development of Java applications as well as multi-tier Java EE style applications in the finance technology supporting all document platform business lines.
Collaborating with multiple technology teams that are upstream and downstream to the application which include Document Platform co-partners and firm's GL system etc.
Working in the Agile development methodologies, collaborating with business and technology teams located globally.
What you'll bring to the role:
5+ years of hands-on experience of Java v1.8 or higher.
Excellent knowledge of Java EE, Web Services (REST/SOAP), Spring Boot, Spring framework, MQ, Kafka, Databases (Db2/SQL), Webserver (Apache Tomcat preferred), Spring Integration & Batch Processing.
Experience and very good understanding of Design Patterns.
Good understanding of DevOps practices and tooling.
Experience in understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (security, entitlements etc.).
Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
Skills Desired:
Working Knowledge of building applications in the Cloud.
Working Knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or any scripting language.
Working Knowledge of Python.
Working knowledge of Financial market, document platform based products and Wealth Management.
