Prime Retail Services has an opening for a full-time Traveling Electrical Apprentice to work remotely in our Prime Power department. This is a traveling field position that will be based out of the southeast region.

SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:
As a Traveling Electrical Apprentice, this position will support the installation, operation, and maintenance of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) in alignment with National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program requirements. This role provides hands-on training and development in the electrical trade under the supervision of licensed electricians.
We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to undertake a variety of tasks relating to supporting and maintaining electrical infrastructure.
Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.
The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize the usability of electricity in all facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections using hand tools.
- Construct controllers and panels.
- Clean the work area and wash parts.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, keeping parts and supplies in order.
- Install copper-clad ground rods using a manual post driver.
- Requisition materials using warehouse requisition or release forms.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts and reassemble equipment.
- Erect electrical system components and barricades; rig scaffolds, hoists, and shoring.
- String transmission lines or cables through ducts or conduits, under the ground, through equipment, or to towers.
- Solder electrical connections; dig trenches/holes for installation of conduit or supports.
- Trim trees and clear undergrowth along the right-of-way.
- Operating cutting torches and welding equipment while working with conduit and metal components to construct devices associated with electrical functions. Paint a variety of objects related to electrical functions.

Requirements:
- High School degree or GED
- Must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)-registered apprenticeship program for electricians

Registered Apprenticeship Programs
NEVI requires that certain workers (e.g., electricians and onsite laborers) either:
- Have graduated from a Registered Apprenticeship Program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), or
- Be actively enrolled as apprentices in such programs.
