Job Summary:

This position is in a research program focused on the early developmental pathways to auditory development and the influences on perception.  We hope, by understanding the impact of auditory access on perceptual development over the first year of life into toddlerhood that we can develop novel interventions for children vulnerable to language development. This Research Services Professional will be involved in the recruitment, tracking, and testing of infants, and children with typical and atypical hearing. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of research studies and laboratory functions.

  • Support subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities.

  • Educate potential subjects on the details of the studies through phone contacts and personal interviews.

  • Schedule subject participation in clinical research trial, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., audiologist).

  • Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Prepare lab for daily operations including equipment calibration and inventory management.

  • Coordinate and participate in research activities across research sites, including, the University of Colorado Anschutz, University of Colorado Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Colorado, and possible other local medical institutions.

  • Coordinate and participate in off-campus research visits which may take place in a participant’s residence or community center.

  • Track patient participation in projects, by maintaining study specific calendars and electronic records/databases.

  • Less than 25 percent of the Research Services Professional’s effort will be administrative work to support the research division’s administrative functions, but not directly related to the conduct of a particular research protocol.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
