Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Sr. Project Manager With a focus on NJ clients: NJDOT; NJTA; SJTA; NJ Transit.  This role can be located out of our Piscataway, NJ office or our Clifton, NJ office.

The ideal candidate will act as Project Manager for large design projects and have overall responsibility for highway Bridge Projects and coordination of all technical issues among various disciplines including Highway, Bridge, Environmental, traffic, public involvement as well as client management and project controls such as invoicing, schedule, and budget. The right candidate may also be asked to manage a portfolio of projects and act as the Client Account Manager with responsibility to grow AECOM’s market share for that client.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of projects from concept development, analysis through final contract documents
  • Serve as the Client Account Manager for major clients in NJ
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase
  • Coordinate the technical content of the project with various disciplines and supervise the subconsultants
  • Report to the senior management on the project status on a regular basis
  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to the Project Staff and Department Managers
  • Comply with company’s safety awareness program and policies
  • Manage groups of engineers, designer and/or specialists towards development of design documents and contract deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision
  • Assure conformance with contractual obligations by ensuring that contract documents are reviewed and approved prior to release to the client Interface with clients at meetings to discuss and coordinate the design
  • Manage and lead the overall project including technical, financial, schedule, and client satisfaction
  • Train, mentor and develop staff
  • Maximize profit while minimizing risk
  • Manage marketing and proposal preparation
  • Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of documents as well as response to the clients comments.
  • Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiates plans for alternative actions
  • Incorporate Innovation in design and delivery

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering + 10 years of related highway bridge design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership/project management
  • NJ PE
  • Recent relevant experience with NJDOT, NJTA and or NJT

Preferred Qualifications :

  • NY Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Affiliated with professional organizations
  • 15 years of project management experience

  • Offered rate of compensation (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $170,000-240,000.
