About the role
Cozen O'Connor is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. As a member of a team this hands on role involves managing invoices and expenses, processing various payments (checks, ACH, credit card, Zelle, wires), and handling intercompany transfers. The position also includes vendor setup, providing helpdesk support, assisting specific office locations, and collaborating with the team.
- Invoice and Expense Management: Review and approve electronic vendor invoices and expense reports using Chrome River software.
- Payment Processing: Initiate vendor payments via checks, ACH, credit card, and Zelle in Aderant Expert; process wire payments for domestic and international requests.
- Intercompany Transfers: Manage book transfers between intercompany bank accounts.
- Support and Assistance: Provide support through the Accounts Payable helpdesk to internal employees, external vendors, and clients.
- Vendor Setup: Establish new vendors in the financial system.
- Customer Support: Offer targeted support to specific office locations.
- Team Collaboration: Serve as a backup for other A/P specialists as needed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other administrative tasks and assist with ad hoc projects as necessary.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in Accounts Payable, preferably in a law firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with strong Excel skills. Experience with Chrome River and Aderant Expert software.
- Soft Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities; strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and judgment skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills for internal and external partners.
- Policy Knowledge: Understanding and adherence to firm policies and procedures.
- Teamwork: Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
