About the role:

Marathon Electric has a great opportunity for a position to join our team, The calibration Electronics Technician II maintains on-time electronic measurement instrument calibration for the Marathon Electric Engineering Lab and Wausau manufacturing plant. Typical activities comprise, but are not limited to, applying safe work practices to retrieve or isolate measuring equipment, performing calibration tasks based on equipment types using traceable reference standards, facilitating calibration, repair, or replacement from external vendors, and documenting results and work performed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain test instrument calibration with traceability to NIST

  • Perform calibration procedures and maintain calibration records in accordance to internal quality policy and ISO 17025:2017 standard

  • Represent calibration function during agency audits (UL, NVLAP, CSA)

  • Partner with lab supervisor to carryout internal audits in accordance with quality policy

  • Modify or create work instructions to document standard work procedures

  • Purchase electronics and electrical devices used in the construction and repair of equipment.

  • Perform emergency repair, maintenance and/or analysis of any equipment as required

  • Analyze and review new products, equipment, devices and software to be implemented

on new and upgraded equipment designs.

  • Performs other assignments or projects as assigned

  • Able to lift instruments and calibration weights up to 50 lbs.

Education:

Associate degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical technology or equivalent required.

Knowledge / training:

Required Generalized skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-guided time management behaviors

  • Effective technical communication through formal and informal writing

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word

Preferred Specifics

  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 compliant calibration lab

  • Familiarity with Fluke 5522A Multi-Product Calibrator with MET/CAL calibration management software

  • Familiarity with Fluke MET/TEAM Test Equipment Asset Management Software

  • Knowledge and experience with test equipment, equipment construction and wiring.

  • Experience in testing motors, generators and other related products.
