About the role
<p>We are looking for a highly motivated <strong>Head of Commercial Finance</strong>, to join the VavaCars mission of becoming the best car dealer in Turkiye. This role will directly report to the CFO.</p><p>You will be responsible for business partnering across the organization, including with the commercial, retail, operations, marketing, product teams, and leadership to drive improvements in our P&L. You will business partner to work on new initiatives for market research and financial modelling. You will be involved with, and responsible for, the understanding, interpretation, analysis and reporting of key commercial, operational and financial data, and processes, thereby enabling both transparency and performance improvement. You will work with the CFO to manage our inventory risk and margin controls. Along with the CFO, you and your team will own the forecasting, budgeting, reporting processes and models.</p><p>The role requires somebody with strong analytical abilities, commercially minded, good communication skills, management ability and the confidence to challenge where appropriate and convey financial concepts to non-financial and operational individuals. </p><p>To succeed in this role you’ll be up for a challenge - a 'disruptive’ thinker - resilient - comfortable working within a complex, fast paced environment - highly numerate, with an aptitude for translating complex data into meaningful insights for the target audience - a polished communicator (both written/verbally) at all stakeholder levels - commercially astute - highly organised and an effective planner.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Responsibilities </strong></p><p></p><ul> <li>Business partnering with key stakeholders (incl. senior management and commercial teams) to develop performance analysis of metal and non-metal margins and enabling opportunities to drive improvements</li> <li>Detailed reporting to monitor and control inventory aging, trading margins, and ancillary services performance, by working closely with the business team, and providing regular reporting with insights and recommendations</li> <li>Monitoring and regular reporting (weekly, monthly) on performance against targets and budget, and rolling forecasts for trading and ancillary services </li> <li>Working closely with the finance, data, and commercial teams to ensure reported and forecasted revenues, costs and margin are accurate and understood</li> <li>Monthly reporting to senior management on month-end financial performance with insights and analysis</li> <li>Taking the lead in supplying, analysing, and providing insight on key operational & financial data to help inform business decision making and support key operational decisions</li> <li>Analysing the business’ operational process and providing suggestions for improvements to optimise and to maximise efficiency and overall profitability</li> <li>Supporting management to analyse business’ cases and/or the return on investment for expenditure and other operational decisions</li> <li>Driving the annual, mid-year and ad-hoc budgeting and forecasting processes, with the support of the CFO and other stakeholders</li> <li>Supporting the wider finance team with month end reporting, statutory account information, business analysis and other finance tasks as appropriate</li> <li>Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage the FP&A team to develop and retain a high performing culture that delivers upon the team’s goals</li> <li>Other ad hoc tasks as required</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Related Field; preferred CFA and/or MBA</li> <li>CPA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent</li> <li>12+ years of experience in Finance incl. FP&A and/or Corporate Finance, 4+ years of team management; preferred if worked in tech org</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of financial planning and modelling, financial analysis, cost/benefit analysis</li> <li>Very strong understanding of 3 financial statements: P&L, BS, CF</li> <li>Established experience achieving deadlines and effectively managing multiple priorities</li> <li>Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, including the ability to summarize and clearly present conclusions</li> <li>Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to multitask on competing priorities</li> <li>Expert knowledge of working with Excel and PowerPoint</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>We offer a unique and exciting package - nothing like this has been attempted in the local auto space before and we want to attract the best and brightest.
