Position Summary
The Major Gifts Officer is a position that exemplifies The Stewpot’s future fundraising and program goals. In trying to keep pace with the rapidly-expanding homeless population, The Stewpot serves as a leading homeless services and housing nonprofit, both in North Texas and the U.S. This Major Gifts Officer position is an exciting opportunity for you to advance the critical mission of a high-growth nonprofit and help meet the rising need of unhoused people in the U.S.
Your role, as a Major Gifts Officer, is to secure funds for The Stewpot by fulfilling the interests and passions of Stewpot donors and prospective donors; providing them with giving opportunities and encouragement to give; and assuring as many donors as possible are retained and upgraded in giving and involvement with The Stewpot.
Essential Functions
- Qualify a caseload of top 150 donors $1,000+ not already included in another staff member's caseload.
- Create and execute a plan for each donor of varied monthly communications, touchpoints, and visits/experiences, a plan driven by that donor's passions and interests and communication preferences.
- Secure appropriate project information, including budgets, and create offers, proposals and requests for support.
- Create monthly reports on caseload progress.
- Perform other major donor and general fundraising activities as required by management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training or relevant experience.
- CFRE or CAP preferred
- Experience in development and fundraising for not-for-profit organizations; Major Giving experience preferred.
- Personable, self-motivated
