Position Description & Requirements

Position Summary

Radiology Associates of Appleton (RAA) currently seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to work in collaboration with a supervising physician in Appleton, WI. The candidate will represent the practice in interactions with hospital staff, referring clinicians, patients and the health care community in general. The candidate assists in providing procedure-based radiology services in a hospital practice setting.


Position Duties and REsponsibilities

  • This position is a full-time position with option of .8 or 1 FTE.
  • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST
  • Pre-procedure evaluation and preparation of patients undergoing interventional or other image guided radiologic procedures
  • Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults, inpatient rounding and long-term patient follow-up
  • Schedule patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, working with other facilities to coordinate      procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors.
  • Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries.
  • Perform or assist image-guided procedures
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
  • Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients
  • Educate patients on their medical care and other duties as assigned

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At LEAST 1-year minimum experience as a practicing Mid-Level REQUIRED
  • Procedural experience - PREFERRED
  • Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Wisconsin is required
  • Graduate of a training program approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA) or American Nursing Association (ANA).
  • Board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or The American Academy of Nurse Practi
