GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive approach to deliver one or more major products, capabilities, services, or enhancements in accordance with the product roadmap. This role works with Program Managers, Business Leaders, and a cross-functional Scrum team to deliver the product. Manages the overall effort to deliver products, capabilities, services, and enhancements using the strategic vision as well as established key performance indicators. Understands the functionality and determines the release sequence. Prioritizes and maintains the product backlog and performs just-in-time story elaboration with the development team. Provide thought leadership, anticipate, and understand business needs, map these needs to external market trends, conduct vision/validate sessions with business stakeholders and formulate investment cases; translate business needs into technical requirements, document and prioritize user stories, and partner with technology delivery teams to drive execution. Serve as the voice of the business and partner with business stakeholders in recommending technology solutions to support business needs; clarify and document business requirements.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide thought leadership, anticipate, and understand business needs, map these needs to external market trends, conduct vision/validate sessions with business stakeholders and formulate investment cases; translate business needs into technical requirements, document and prioritize user stories, and partner with technology delivery teams to drive execution.
2. Serve as the voice of the business and drive to balance the needs of business users with funding and resource availability; partner with business stakeholders in recommending technology solutions to support business needs; clarify and document business requirements.

3. Define, deliver, prioritize, and manage a major product backlog with input from key stakeholders across the organization.
4. Assist and guide business partners in developing business requirements, timelines, milestones, and dependencies, Ensures close collaboration with the development team and vendor partners.
5. Ensures user stories are “ready” for development to start work and ensures user stories have the correct acceptance criteria.
6. Provide input into product vision, goal setting, execution, product roll-out strategies and possess technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise.
7. Contributes to the work of the Line of Business Program Manager as they define a product differentiation strategy.
8. Work closely with cross-functional teams on requirements and drive user experience design, journey discussions and tracks progress towards the release of a product.
9. Develops personas either alone or in conjunction with a team including user experience experts to track performance, inform product design and development decisions to drive usage.
10. Define customer needs and the associated features to meet those needs, identify possible automated or digital solutions for customer issues, establish success criteria and measurable results.
11. Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team.
12. Prioritizes defect or bug resolution.
13. Coordinate with other functional teams to support communication about initiatives and the creation of product collateral.
14. Always ensure alignment with key stakeholders to deliver a cohesive experience.
15. Strategic thinker with the ability to inspire confidence from, and to collaborate closely with technology leaders and internal stakeholders.
16. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws.
17. Handle other duties as may be assigned.
