Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping and receiving operations within our facility. This includes overseeing the dispatch of finished goods, receiving incoming materials, managing and organizing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent organizational skills, and experience in the paint or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders.
- Manage a team of shipping and receiving staff, provide training, guidance, and support to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for shipping and receiving processes to ensure compliance with the company policies and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock movements to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving operations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with freight carriers and logistics partners to negotiate rates and ensure reliable transportation of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels in the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure that all shipping and receiving activities comply with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving management, preferably in the paint or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and shipping regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
