General Purpose
Levels 1 & 2: Coordinate the function and operation of the company’s Security Operations Center, including 24x7 monitoring of cyber and physical security systems, alarm response and investigations, and initiating incident response procedures and escalation. Ensure the Security Operations Center is adequately staffed, has all necessary tools, resources, and training, and that processes and procedures are appropriate and functional. Interface with an external staffing service regarding placement, training, and scheduling of Security Operations Center contract personnel. Answer security-related questions, troubleshoot issues or concerns, and ensure compliance with various policy and regulatory requirements.
In addition, Level 3: Support physical security operations to protect company personnel, assets, and interests. Lead investigations and coordinate responses to security threats and incidents; Oversee security projects and initiatives; and maintain security programs, including regulatory compliance. Provide security guidance and counsel to management, employees, and other departments company wide
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Level 1 & 2:
- Provide guidance to contract Security Operations Center personnel to ensure the Center operates efficiently.
- In coordination with management assist with developing, implementing and maintaining Security Operations Center processes and procedures.
- Identify issues and coordinate troubleshooting and repair of security systems and equipment.
- Assist security-related projects, including deployment of security equipment, implementation of processes, and adherence to compliance-driven initiatives.
- Coordinate investigations into reported cyber and physical security events and document findings.
- Ensure complex cyber and physical security issues that are not resolved by the Security Operations Center escalate to appropriate contacts.
- Support Human Resources with investigations into personnel activities.
- Support Facilities with planning activities to ensure security is properly addressed.
- Coordinate with the external staffing service and internal training department to ensure that Security Operations Center personnel receive and complete relevant training and skills development.
- Apply appropriate security best-practices and regulatory compliance standards like NERC CIPS.
- Assist with the coordination and tasking of contract security officers.
- Monitor security incident trends and propose appropriate solutions to address threats and vulnerabilities.
- Foster strong working relationships between Security and other company departments and personnel.
- Serve as a point of contact with federal, state, and local intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and other security organizations.
- Assist local, state, and federal law enforcement to mitigate and resolve security threats.
In Addition, responsibilities of Level 3:
- Develops and manages security plans, policies, and procedures.
• Represents the company during regulatory inspections, security briefings, and security meetings with government agencies.
• Evaluates proposed legislation and regulation for company impact and recommends appropriate responses.
• Conducts regular security assessments, including vulnerability assessments for company facilities, processes, and projects, and develops and implements mitigation and remediation strategies.
• Reviews, edits, and updates existing security documentation and identifies improvements.
• Develops and conducts security training on a wide variety of security topics.
• Utilizes appropriate security technologies and systems, is familiar with security technology industry, and ensures proper security technology integration.
• Conducts diverse, complex, and sensitive investigations into issues of significant consequence to the company. Provides reports and presentations of investigative results which enable and support risk management decision making.
• Where appropriate, manage the use of external contractors to provide specialist services in support of securing company facilities and assets.
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and other first responders to raise awareness of critical company assets and protective measures.
