Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and direct supervision of DDL Director of Operation, the Staff Research Associate will provide support in conducting research on the ongoing drug discovery projects in the lab. The SRA will work closely with the research team. Under the supervision and guidance of the PI, the SRA will learn to synthesize new chemical entities and to perform various biological assays. These include: chemical synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds, cell culture experiments using cell lines. Effectively operate and use the following equipment: Alpha LISA, fluorescence plate reader, pipettes, tabletop centrifuge, analytical balance, HPLC, MS and NMR. In addition, assist research team in performing analytical on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics experiments. Additional duties include interfacing with administration on grants and orders for laboratory experiments and equipment.
Hourly salary range: $28.69 - $34.21
Job Qualifications

Required:
• Ability to maintain clear and concise lab notes and data records
• Ability to work independently as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
Preferred:
• Experience performing Drug Discovery Lab assays
• Experience running HPLC, MS, NMR and TLC
• Experience in compound synthesis
• Experience working with cell lines and cell treatment
• Experience with in vitro ADMET
• Experience with Pharmacokinetic (PK) analysis my MS to determine brain and plasma levels
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or related field
