In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Work on supplier set-ups, beta material purchases, phase in/out planning with both manufacturing and suppliers, specification communications to suppliers, and capital and expense justification and execution / purchasing.
- Independent completion of assigned projects including scheduling
- Work with global supply chain commodity managers to ensure supply chain strategic alignment of newly crafted parts
- Establish key project performance indicators to include but not limited to preferred supplier utilization, best cost sourcing utilization, common part usage, multi-sourcing
- Collaborate on price, delivery, payment terms, stocking programs and other terms related to supply in compliance with Emerson standard terms and conditions with suppliers. Ensure contract availability and validity.
- Participate in regular Global Meetings with World Area peers on product development activities
- Perform cost and scenario analysis among suppliers.
- Ensure to meet yearly critical metric targets and data accuracy in Emerson tracking systems (project tracker tool, cost impact report) which follows Emerson reporting rules and ensures transparency of spending
- Work with appropriate tools: Microsoft Excel, EMR NPD Roadmap, phase gate process, Microsoft Project, Lean-Kit, Oracle Business Systems
You are the interface between our Suppliers and our Design Engineering Team. You plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with the Project goals. You optimally build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization. You take on new opportunities and tough challenges with haste, high energy, and passion. You constantly look for ways to improve lead time and reduce costs. For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
- 5+ years of proven experience; materials, purchasing, and/or strategic supply chain experience preferred
- Knowledgeable in Electronics industry.
- Project Management Experience
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentations to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- 8+ years of proven experience; materials, purchasing, and/or strategic supply chain experience preferred
- Strong project management skills both organizationally and systems to manage numerous projects and sophisticated data sets.
- Technical competence to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, purchasing, materials, and supply chain personnel. Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
