Academic Advisor - Tepper School of Business

Core responsibilities include:
- Provide academic advising to undergraduate business and economics students navigating their academic experience by reviewing curriculum progress towards degree completion and supporting personal, educational, and career goal development.
- Conduct individual advising sessions via in-person and virtual meetings on registration, course exploration and selection, campus resources, and opportunities.
- Document advising notes after individual student interactions.
- Contribute to student success and retention by providing data points and reviewing analysis.
- Encourage student engagement with campus resources and support services to promote academic success, self-advocacy, and well-being.
- Collaborate with campus partners (faculty, housefellows, academic advisors) to provide frequent touchpoints and identify interventions for students with academic concerns. Attend and contribute to staff meetings, advisor professional development opportunities, and major campus events (i.e., orientation, commencement). Other duties assigned as special projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling or Higher Education preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
Knowledge & Commitments:
- Use student development, student success, and academic advising theories to work with a diverse student population in inclusive learning environments
- Interact and represent the Tepper School in a professional manner with faculty, students, staff, and the community
- Engage student leadership theories and standard methodologies to support a diverse set of student organizations
- Maintain professional expertise through regular professional development
- Approach work with a sense of fun and commitment to student success
