Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
* Certificate in Nurse Midwifery from a school approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives
* BLSHCP required
* 3-5 years midwife experience
POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse midwife is responsible for the management of the uncomplicated prenatal patient throughout the maternity cycle, including the antepartum, postpartum, and the interconceptional periods.   This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of New Jersey. Certificate in Nurse Midwifery from a school approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives required. Granted privileges from Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff.
BLSHCP required; ACLS preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years midwife experience required, preferably in a Health Start practice setting. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.   PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday.   REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to department leadership.
