Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Senior Staff - IFC Chief Engineer in our SDS Division. This leadership role will be located in Roy, Utah or Manhattan Beach, California.

What You’ll Get To Do:
- Lead weapon system Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) development activities within the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) in support of the Sentinel program’s Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) activities
- Partner with the Sentinel Systems Integration Chief Engineer, Software Chief Engineer, and DevStar to ensure overall executability of the IFC plan to meet program milestones and ultimately the verification of all Weapon System requirements
- Provide program-wide IFC leadership, partnering with aerospace vehicle equipment (AVE), command & launch, training and support segment Systems Engineering teams to ensure a consistent implementation and execution of the IFC requirements, processes, tools and products
- Execute Systems Engineering processes and approaches leveraging modern Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes & tools
- Formulate system-level, subsystem, and component or other lower-level risk reduction via system integration and test activities
- Support hardware-software integration and deliverable focused deep dives within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Support strategically valuable technical interchange meetings with Sentinel partners
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Take leadership role in providing insight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problems
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentoring to the wider engineering team in the application of scientific principles, tools, and techniques to achieve practical end results
- Improve program-wide IFC planning processes to reduce EMD execution cost and schedule risk while maintaining high technical rigor
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree in a STEM related field of study; 12 years with a Masters in STEM; 10 years with a PhD in STEM
- US Citizenship with an Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification and the ability to obtain a DoD Top-Secret Clearance
- Five years of experience working within an IFC framework
- Three years of experience formally leading the development, deployment, and execution of IFC processes and/or plans on a major program or program area
- Demonstrated ability to formally present technical solutions to senior leadership
- Experience with flight and ground systems development, including systems architecture definition, requirements allocation, system integration, risk management, and verification and test planning
- Ability to collaborate and achieve consensus when dealing with groups from diverse organizations and backgrounds
