Summary of Job Duties:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for set up and to assist provider with medical procedures and examinations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited program.
- A minimum of one (1) year medical assistance experience.
- BLS (CPR) Certification.
Special knowledge, abilities and skills:
- Ability to perform point of care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
- Researches physicians’ orders/accession orders within Epic environment prior to submission to clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center.
- Collects/records patients’ data, acquires patient vital signs, and may utilize skills such as phlebotomy.
- Performs additional skills such as EKG’s and dressing changes.
- Sets-up for and assists provider with procedures and examinations
- Administers approved medications
