Summary of Job Duties:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for set up and to assist provider with medical procedures and examinations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited program.
• A minimum of one (1) year medical assistance experience. 
• BLS (CPR) Certification.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

• Ability to perform point of care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy experience preferred

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Researches physicians’ orders/accession orders within Epic environment prior to submission to clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center.
• Collects/records patients’ data, acquires patient vital signs, and may utilize skills such as phlebotomy.
• Performs additional skills such as EKG’s and dressing changes.
• Sets-up for and assists provider with procedures and examinations
• Administers approved medications
