Position Title

Senior Writer

Broadmoor Campus

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Senior Writer works with the strategic and creative teams to develop communications materials aimed at external audiences (patients, visitors, referring physicians, donors, consumers). Will write and edit copy for a wide variety of materials, from articles and brochures to ad copy, web copy and digital publications. Focus areas include orthopedics and sports medicine, as well as physician specialties including radiology and behavioral health.  

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Researches and writes for a variety of internal and external publications and web content, including brochures, newsletters, patient communications, referring physician communications, fundraising materials and employee communications materials.
  • Builds relationships and contacts with department representatives and news sources across the medical center.
  • Reviews existing publications and offers strategic input into updating and improving them.
  • Acts as project manager for communications projects, serving as liaison to other departments and coordinating timelines and production.
  • Coordinates with graphic designers and outside vendors to ensure quality in publications and web content.
  • Assists with special events and other projects as needed.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in related field from an accredited college or university.
  • High School Graduate
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in organizational communications, public relations or marketing communications.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications or English from an accredited college or university.
