Base Salary $140,913 - $148,684 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Centre Manager to provide operational leadership for our Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH) Centre for Child and Adolescent Health Research. Utilising your leadership and operational management skills, you will provide the centre with the expertise to meet its core objectives whilst supporting the strategic research agenda of the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The centre’s mission is to promote delivery of high quality research and tools that advance efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based care to improve the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents.
This role will be based at the Westmead Precinct in Block K. This role is ideal for a highly organized and proactive professional with a passion for research, engagement and a commitment to improving child and adolescent health.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
establish systems and processes to support the development and funding of highly productive research programs
provide strategic leadership by aligning the Centre’s work with its strategic, financial, and scientific objectives, and support the implementation of research strategies and action plans
build and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders across the University and beyond, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication
oversee the provision of administrative and technical resources, ensuring the Centre’s operations are efficient and compliant with University policies
collaborate with the Finance Team to manage budgets, support audits, and ensure effective financial control and compliance
lead and manage research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget, while addressing any challenges that arise
Undertake additional projects and activities as needed to support the Centre’s objectives.
About you
postgraduate qualifications (Masters or PHD) in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience are required (such as medical or applied health /paediatric (infant / child /adolescent) health research, consumer engagement; health education experience is desirable)
advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, database management, and web content management systems
demonstrated exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and achieve desired outcomes
strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in supervising, training, and mentoring staff, and managing HR issues
proven experience in engaging with diverse stakeholder groups and cultivating productive relationships, including conducting workshops, surveys, and interviews
previous experience in the higher education sector or within complex organizations, with a track record of successful strategic and operational management, financial literacy, and high-level administrative skills.
