Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Athletics invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The successful candidate plays a vital role in the success of a NCAA Division I intercollegiate women’s basketball program, assisting the head coach with all facets of program management including assisting with instruction and training of student-athletes in on-court operations, physical and mental player development, motivation, mentorship, instilling disciplines and development technical skills through quality practice and excellent communication.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Program development through collaboration with Head Coach
Maintain and communicate in-depth knowledge of the medical and strength and conditioning profiles of student-athletes
Commitment to the academic and athletic progress and performance of the individual student-athletes and the team
Collaborate with the Head Coach in the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes
Develop team strategies and individual player development
Recruiting duties as assigned
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with coaching staff, athletic administration staff and other university personnel
Maintain a professional and positive image of Southeastern Athletics, specifically the women’s basketball program
Follow established departmental policies and procedures
Commitment to work with diversity
Ability to work nights/evening, weekends and holiday
Other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. A minimum of one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited university.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations in Division 1 Athletics
