In Office Expectation: Onsite; This role requires associates to work from the Miami, FL Office full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support.

Shift & Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time  

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the interpretation and data entry of basic orders, processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • This role is instrumental in executing the data entry portion of the diabetic process, ensuring enhanced service standards, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Handles incoming calls from internal and external customers; conducts outbound provider/customer calls; interacts with Provider Services; sends, receives, reviews, and stores member diabetic information/certificates.

  • Responds to inquiries from physicians and members related to Plan formulary benefits.

  • Verifies member information and inputs data into applications for internal use and reference.  

  • Educates members on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.

  • Assists in accurately reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and packing prescriptions.

  • Routinely label, rotate and segregate outdated inventory.  Coordinate the disposal of outdated, discontinued, and/or unsaleable/recalled merchandise.

  • Processes prior authorization requests from physicians’ offices and ensures compliance with Medicare requirements.

  • Informs relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.

  • Provides resolutions to grievances and appeals issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current State Pharmacy Tech. Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.

  • Requires oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
