Description
The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is seeking a full‑time Board‑Certified/Board‑Eligible Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Pediatrician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join our expanding academic and clinical division. Candidates must possess or be eligible for New York State licensure.

- Research on caregiver and provider perceptions of autism and developmental delay.
- Validation studies of autism screening tools in young children.
- Quality improvement initiatives focused on new systems of care.
- Collaborative projects with Pediatrics (Primary Care, NICU Follow‑Up, Genetics, Neurology), Child Psychiatry, and other departments.
- Participation in community and school outreach through the Stony Brook Medicine CARE program.
- Leadership and training within the Stony Brook LEND Program (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities).
- Engagement with early childhood stakeholders including Help Me Grow and Early Intervention Programs.
The Health Sciences Center and Neuroscience Institute provide exceptional opportunities for clinical and basic science research, with competitive departmental seed funding available for junior and mid‑career investigators.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive neurodevelopmental and developmental evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disability, Genetic Syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, behavioral concerns, and other developmental/behavioral conditions.
- Psychopharmacologic management for ADHD and related behavioral needs.
- Participation in interdisciplinary clinical teams.
- Teaching of medical students, residents (Pediatrics, Med/Peds, Neurology), fellows, trainees, and community partners.
- Collaboration on research, quality improvement, and program development initiatives.
