Job Description

The position holder is responsible for the leadership and management of the of the Operations Core Team Leads for Single Use Endoscopes (SUE) development programs. Promote and align across cross functional leaders to enable product launches to meet business needs with respect to operational deliverables and KPIs. 
The position holder supports and coaches staff to develop and improve the operations project timelines, deliverables, and resources according to the overall project plans and product delivery requirements to meet product launches effectively. Ensures best practices and collaboration across programs to maximize value delivery and minimize risk.

Job Duties

  • Direct supervisory responsibility for operations core team leads, who sit as core team members on cross functional project teams for single use endoscope product development.
  • Influence and indirect leadership of engineers, technicians and/or contract staff, as well as the broader operations extended team members.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and career growth opportunities to team members
  • Develop and manage project budgets and resource plans across the operations team, in support of broader project goals, applying agile techniques to re-balance when necessary to meet the business objectives.
  • Establish plans and complete product and process development activities to meet project goals throughout phases and activities such as, design for manufacturability/excellence (DfM/DfX), specification development, supplier development, process development, design reviews, prototype development, process validation, pilot build and product release readiness while maintaining cost of goods (COGS), capacity, and yield performance.
  • Ensure outstanding product development processes including FDA compliance and alignment to the Phase Gate product development process
  • Develop and deliver project status reports, proactively identifying, resolving, and presenting any issues that may impact the team’s ability to meet key goals
  • Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple departmental projects for the production phase products.
  • Works with other leaders cross-functionally to standardize, leverage and implement engineering tools and establish best-demonstrated practices
  • Provides operations project leadership resources in support all necessary projects and activities
  • Own and drive all operations deliverables within a project, coordinating and prioritizing acitvies amongst the operations core and extended team members.
  • Drive proactive behavior within the operations team
  • All Other Essential Duties as directed.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field.
  • An advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of leading successful product and/or process development programs or other complex cross functional projects within a regulated environment.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of management experience with multiple direct reports.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting bringing products from conception through market release and beyond. A track record of delivering and scaling commercialized products for volume production is required.
  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Travel up to 25%, mostly Domestic.

 

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability of effectively navigating matrixed organizations. Ability to influence and be influenced by functional team members, cross functional partners, peers and leaders, to optimize approach and results.
  • Experience partnering with external suppliers for the development of new processes and technologies as demonstrated with commercialized products.
  • Good team leader and manager, wide technical knowledge base, with above average problem analysis skills
  • Able to think both logically and creatively and possess sound reporting abilities
  • Working knowledge of core engineering tools is preferred. For example: 6-sigma, FMEA, Risk Analysis, Process Mapping, Standard Work Instr
