OnsiteThis position is for an Software Engineering intern for the Collins Aerospace Interiors Lighting team in Bohemia NY. The selected candidate, as a key member of our team, must be a self-starter, have excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills, be highly motivated, take initiative, and be able to excel in a high-performance work team environment.
What You Will Do:
- Design, code, test, and provide ongoing support for embedded systems software to meet technical and customer requirements
- Design and code based on low-level software requirements
- Build, test, and deliver real-time embedded software to target environments in support of program and customer commitments
- Build windows applications for manufacturing team to use to produce LED lights
What You Will Learn:
- Learn about LED based Interior Lighting products for Commerical aviation.
- Learn about the end to end process in manufacturing lights
- Learn how to design, implement, integrate and test real-time embedded software with hardware.
- Learn and work with equipment and tools used in color mixing and photometric testing
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Must be interested in commercial aircraft and aircraft systems integration
- Work all issues to resolution with an attitude of ownership of the entire problem to produce results that exceed customer expectations.
- C / C# / Python experience is a plus
- Creating Hardware / Software interface libraries knowledge is a plus.
- Network protocol knowledge and Real Time Operating System knowledge is a plus.
