The Platform Engineering group is seeking a Senior Principal Platform / Cloud Architect to ensure the successful delivery of a Private Cloud Infrastructure for one of our premier programs on site at our Aurora Colorado Campus Location. 

As the Senior Principal Platform / Cloud Architect, you will be supporting the program as a Senior technical contributor within a multi-disciplined team through our system modernization efforts to address cloud resource optimization, focusing on the program’s cost model savings initiative. Additionally, in this role you will serve as a member of the Architecture team working closely with Program and Customer Management teams to streamline schedules, Monitor ICITE efficiencies, create and review related design documentation for the program.

What You Will Do

• You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally, building, and refining solutions that align with tech standards, timelines, and budgets
• Investigate and present technological solutions to improve performance
• Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions
• Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions
• You will provide Technical Optimization of the system
• Identifying and facilitating execution of cost-savings opportunities through resource optimization, instance sizing, and computer savings plans
• Establish and document best practices / cost optimization
• Collaboration with component architects and chief architects to design cost-efficient solutions
• Interface with program leadership on cost optimization strategies
• Act as a Liaison to AWS TAMs to facilitate AWS support

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of systems engineering experience
• Experience with cloud technologies and services: Familiarity AWS
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions, including network architecture, security, and high availability
• Experience working with stakeholders and explaining complex technical concepts
• Current TS/SCI clearance is required day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in managing and monitoring cloud environments, including resource utilization, performance, and security
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance regulations
• Understanding of automation, infrastructure as code, and other DevOps principles
• Experience with cloud migration: Knowledge of migrating applications and data to the cloud
• Experience with technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with languages like Python, Java, or other scripting languages
• Current CompTIA Sec+ (or equivalent)
• Ability to obtain a CI Poly
