JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Root Agroecology Lab at Penn State is looking for research assistant(s) for ongoing lab projects. The Fleishman Root Agroecology Lab seeks to understand the relationship between roots and soil properties in order to clarify the dual role of roots as: 1) supporters of plant health and 2) shapers of key soil functions.
Responsibilities may include:
- Collect plant and soil samples from the field or greenhouses
- Laboratory analyses on plant and soil samples
- Data entry and organization
- Support experiment setup and maintenance
- Collaborate with lab members on ongoing projects
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in agroecology, plant sciences, or related fields
- The ability to work in a variety of conditions, including outdoors
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and well organized
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
