The Opportunity: This role is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the statistical reporting team in support of regulatory reporting, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory reporting, satisfactorily resolving inquiries with regulators and monitoring and providing feedback relating to adherence to team standards and best practices. You will support the availability of SQL-based queries and accuracy of query output for use by the statistical reporting team, including new query development and query maintenance while working within the strategic framework to ensure efficient data flows and consistency in reporting. You will maintain and execute ETL processes, ensuring data completeness, reasonableness and consistency for all in scope data sources, perform reconciliation of source data to the General Ledger.
• Location/Work Arrangement: This role requires hybrid presence (2-3 days/week) in either our Chicago, IL office or our Sun Prairie, WI office.
• The starting salary range for this role is between $69,500-$114,500, depending on experience.
Your New Role:
• Act as subject matter expert for statistical reporting team members, providing guidance on reconciling to General Ledger, resolving edits and inquiries from regulators
•Ensure timely and accurate completion of regulatory reports
•Research and resolve data quality issues identified within regulatory reports. Provide satisfactory responses to regulatory inquiries. Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and maintain strong working relationships with regulators and third parties
•Understand the usage and relevance of QBE data sources, including data warehouses and policy and claims admin systems in relation to regulatory reporting and ensure availability of statistical data for all relevant data sources and lines of business
•Share institutional, industry and technical knowledge with team members and provide support as needed to ensure compliance and promote an environment of continuous improvement and learning
•Support the team's strategic objectives while consistency following team standards and best practices
•Support the development of business, technical and functional requirements to implement system enhancements and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting
•Review and evaluate internal processes for effectiveness and efficiency and recommend alternative approaches and solutions to enhance the consistency, quality and timeliness of reporting
•Data Delivery-focus:
•Ensure timely and accurate availability of data for all relevant data sources to team members in support of regulatory reporting
•Create and maintain SQL queries following team standards, version control and best practices
•Ensure all query logic meets requirements from applicable statistical plans and bulletins and validate test files with regulators as required
•Data Management-focus:
•Create and maintain automated data load packages using SSIS for statistical data sources
•Establish and maintain standards and best practices to ensure consistency of data across the statistical reporting server
•Troubleshoot data quality issues within source files and work with business partners to remediate as required
•Perform monthly reconciliation of premiums and losses to General Ledger, collaborate with business partners to remediate any material variances, track reconciliation results for each data source and provide data quality reports and updates to management
•Reporting-focus:
•Ensure timely and accurate completion of regulatory reports
•Research and resolve data quality issues identified within regulatory reports. Provide satisfactory responses to regulatory inquiries. Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and maintain strong working relationships with regulators and third parties

Required Experience & Education
• 4 years relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
