Job Title: Unit Clerk / Administrative Assistant – Unit III
Location: The Homestead Skilled Nursing Facility – Penn Yan, NY
Schedule: Full-Time, Days (Monday–Friday, No Weekends or Holidays)
Position Summary:
The Homestead is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Unit Clerk / Administrative Assistant to support Unit III within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and values a consistent weekday schedule. You will play a key role in supporting daily operations while contributing to a compassionate, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical terminology coursework preferred
Experience:
- Previous related experience required
- Clerical or administrative experience preferred, especially in healthcare or long-term care
- Computer proficiency required
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Friendly, courteous, and resident-focused approach
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Unit III
- Manage reception duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors
- Facilitate communication between staff, residents, families, and departments
- Assist with resident transport as needed
- Manage resident personal accounts (as assigned)
- Support nursing staff with coordination and documentation tasks

Additional Information:

Hourly rate based on experience: $17.08-$19.84
