The Senior Audit and Risk Consultant is a strategic professional that identifies, analyzes, and assesses organizational risks across multiple domains. This position develops enterprise risk management (ERM) strategies, advises in control development/implementation and provides insights to protect business assets, while ensuring operational resilience and regulatory compliance. This role works independently while providing appropriate levels of communication and seeking approvals or escalations when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide consulting services for company initiatives, such as system implementations, to provide proactive control advisory services to business teams.
· Collaborate with business partners across the organization to understand the risk and control landscape and consult on control enhancements and mitigations.
· Provide key contributions to the development and facilitation of an annual enterprise risk assessment.
· Manage and/or support large projects, such as the ORSA filing, Model Audit Rule annual testing effort, Internal Audit plan projects, etc.
· Support the Internal Audit plan, Model Audit Rule testing, Enterprise Risk Management functions, and others with risk and control documentation as necessary.
· Prepare executive-level presentations using data and/or reporting tools.
· Perform analysis of large data sets, sample selection, outlier analysis, and fraud detection to support audit testing.
· Assist with the implementation of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools and company-selected use cases. Serve as system administrator for GRC tools and provide assistance to users as needed.
· Assist in the development and execution of an annual ERM workplan.
· Maintain department process and procedural documentation.
· Mentor, guide, and/or peer review team members on assigned project work.
· Participate and contribute to industry networking groups to stay abreast of emerging risks and changes to the overall risk landscape.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Risk Management, Actuarial Sciences, or related field required.
Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements. Equivalent experience may include ten (10) years of relevant experience.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant risk management, audit, and/or insurance industry experience required, including demonstrated ability to assess risks and controls.
CERTIFICATIONS
The following certifications are preferred:
· Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
· Certified Internal Systems Auditor (CISA)
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
· RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP)
LICENSES
Valid Driver’s License required.
Preferred work arrangement hybrid on-site, but remote candidates will be considered based on qualifications and experience.
