Youth Sports Instructor (Part-Time)

Are you a friendly and energetic person? Do you enjoy running events for youth & teens that includes sports, arts and crafts, dance and other special events? If so, please consider applying for the Youth Sports Instructor position and joining our Youth & Teen team at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA! 

Qualifications:

• Have at least 6 months to a year of programming experience in the areas of youth programming including implementation, curriculum and/or coaching experiences. 
• Must have the knowledge required for the maintenance of the facilities, equipment, program, staff, and schedules of the program area. 
• Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED within 30 days of hire. 
• Have the ability to establish a supportive relationship with staff, volunteers, members and program members. 
• Be able to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Sports Closet in an orderly fashion 
• Set curriculum and run the youth and preschool classes. 
• Recognize and respond to challenges effectively and be able to problem solve 
• Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success during their classes and help each participant meet the goals they established 
• In emergency situations, administer first-aid and/or CPR as necessary. 
• Evaluate current sessions and make suggestions for following sessions. 
• Attend all staff trainings/meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule: Varies; mornings, evenings, weekends--let us know your availability! 

Job Type: Part-Time Hourly

Pay: $15.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities (gym, pool ect.) for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.
