ROLE SUMMARY:  
The Sr. Manager, Sustainability Reporting & Controls leads Zone governance, reporting integrity, and internal control effectiveness for ESG disclosures, with a primary focus on CSRD compliance. Embedded within the Zone Finance Control team, this role applies financial reporting rigor to non-financial sustainability data to ensure accurate, auditable, and compliant disclosures. This position designs, implements, and continuously improves the reporting and control framework required for mandatory sustainability reporting, partnering cross-functionally with Supply, Procurement, People, LCA, and other functions to translate regulatory requirements into controlled, sustainable processes. The role serves as the Zone subject matter expert for CSRD-related controls, supporting MICS alignment, external assurance, and elevating sustainability reporting to the standards of financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Zone compliance with CSRD reporting requirements across environmental, social, and governance topics; evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, internal controls, and compliance with policies and regulations
  • Training and support to Zone functions (Supply, Procurement, People, LCA) on reporting requirements and process implementation
  • Manage the continuous process improvement of newly implemented internal controls relevant to CSRD compliance
  • Lead walkthroughs and perform data-driven testing to validate control owners’ conclusions on the effectiveness of CSRD-relevant internal controls.
  • For controls new to the MICS framework, develop action plans and oversee the full implementation of the control
  • Delivery of Zone external assurance for internal controls relied upon by the external auditor for CSRD required metrics

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5+ years in Accounting, Internal Control, or Finance
  • Track record working in financial reporting or operations with an understanding of the interdependencies of both to inform sustainability reporting
  • Experience or strong interest and willingness to learn about relevant sustainability topics covered in mandatory reporting requirements
  • Understands internal controls and has experience in designing and executing controls
  • Proven hands-on mentality with strong operational implementation capability
  • Proven experience of diplomatically resolving issues through understanding conflicting views, achieving alignment, and proposing solutions
  • High sense of urgency and ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Proven organizational and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage process activities
